Hot Deal: EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM for $1699 at B&H

B&H Photo Video has now matched this crazy hot deal: the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM for $1699.00, after a $300 mail-in rebate. This price is seen when you start the checkout process.

Just like the Amazon deal that sold out in a matter of hours, this price won’t last. This ties for the cheapest price ever. B&H is giving 4% rewards on this purchase.

UPDATE: Adorama is also matching this price too.

I just called B&H a few hours ago to price match amazon for this lens I bought Monday (which they did) and then they dropped the price on their site, coincidence? or did I cause this 🙂

Canceled my Amazon order from last night and jumped on this one. B&H offers 4% rewards while Amazon is 2%. Either way a fantastic price!!

Unfortunately the deal is over. Price is back to $2299 before rebate.

Deal is still live — you need to proceed to checkout to see the price.

Last night’s amazon deal is 2% rewards, not 4%.

    1. October 16, 2013 at 2:05 pm EDT

Yeah, sorry, I apologize for the ambiguous language — the second sentence “Just like the Amazon deal that sold out in a matter of hours, this price won’t last.” is not related to the 4% rewards statements.

when i go to b&h it still says $2299 plus $300 rebate…not $1999 plus rebate

I was checking best buy for deals on canon lenses and jumped on the 70-200 at 2199 as soon as I saw it there. Came here and read about the best buy double dip, went back to buy a 24-70, but it was out of stock by then. Missed the two double dips at Amazon for 24-70, but finally got it now at bhp for 1999 – thanks canonpricewatch.com!!!

Same here… this morning, I called B&H to price match Amazon… The rep told me… “What are you talking about? We are already selling it at that ridiculous price?” Sure enough… As CPW stated, just need to begin the checkout before you can see. All I can say is that I am one happy camper now… I could not take advantage of the Amazon deal because of the sales tax, but with B&H, no sales tax… no brainer… Just a waiting game now until it finally arrives… My heart is beating so fast as though I am expecting a newborn. This is what Canon has done to me.

That, the 100L macro, and the 70-200 II are the lenses everyone is waiting for.

Kudos to Amazon and B&H for resisting Canon’s crazy pricing scheme. They’d sell a lot more at this more appropriate market price. I just got mine today.

I tried to get the deal the other day from Amazon and they added it to my cart at the 1999.00 price but would not allow my card to go through once I placed the order. Was on the phone with Amazon CC company as well as Amazon and neither of them could figure out the issue. I finally canceled the order and tried again and the price had gone up so I got fed up with them and just decided to wait. Guess the lens Gods where watching over me now that B&H has it with better rewards and no tax or shipping costs. Finally can trade in my old Sigma to B&H to get some more store credit.

I guess it worked out better in the end for you!

Absolutely and now I have your site bookmarked and have signed up for the emails so I am ready when the next deal comes out. I am sure that Nov and Dec will be a frenzy of special deals as was last year when I got my 5D3 on the cheap side. Didn’t know you guys existed before Sunday but I do now!

I have always wanted this lens ever since I decided I would eventually make the jump to full-frame bodies. I always resisted however because the price was never quite good enough. After I saw BH put it down to this price with no shipping and no tax though? I couldn’t resist any longer.

I’m glad I patiently waited it out and I can’t wait to try this lens out first on my crop body and eventually a full frame when I see a deal good enough to push me over.

Thank you CPW for the deal!

This deal is REAL. I just got off the phone w/ B&H. My new 24-70 f/2.8 II is on its way! Price of $1,999 @ checkout and since they ARE an authorized Canon Dealer, I can submit the $300 mail-in rebate. So, final price IS as advertised: $1,699! I’m looking forward to receiving it.

Still live at B&H, dead at Adorama.

Is the reason why this is still around that everyone is expecting the 70-200 IS II to show up next on sale?

Deal is over…sad, but it stayed for much longer than it was on Amazon
