Hot Deal: EOS 5D Mark III for $2445 at BigValueInc via eBay

BigValueInc via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2445.00. This is the absolute cheapest price we’ve seen ever, body-only, for the 5D Mark III.

BigValueInc via eBay is not an authorized dealer, but the vast majority of our readers report receiving US model items (which are valid for Canon US warranty service). At over $500 cheaper than authorized dealers, this is a great deal.

Also based on reader feedback, this is likely a split kit — an original 5D Mark III kit box, but with lens removed. BigValueInc sells the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens separately for $635.00.

I was so excited, I forget how to spell “They’re”…..

I’m curious with the new body coming out shortly(whenever that is) do you see a big price down on III and 6d’s when that happens or do they hold value pretty well?

      November 29, 2013 at 12:46 am EDT

Yeah, I wouldn’t hold my breath for that new body coming out “shortly”…

    2. November 29, 2013 at 2:07 am EDT

Yes, they’ll come down in price. But remember they will try to keep the price from getting too low, to avoid affecting the other camera lines. They’ll just stop producing and supplying the body once the price can’t be sustained.

For example, the 5D Mark II came to a low of $1500 new, and the 7D didn’t go below $1000 new. I would be surprised if Canon ever lets the 5D3 sell (new) for less than ~$2200.

Of course you can save money with used and refurbished. 🙂

Honey, you know how you love those deals where you get double coupons and a “buy three items” deal .. and you end up getting it for free?

This is like that .. only $2445 more expensive.

Were you using ACH or a creditcard? .. some credit card’s fraud protections go haywire when you suddenly make a huge online purchase. Call your credit card company if everything else is right and they should sort it out for you.

They’ve sold like 200 of them so it’s obviously working for other people.

I’m curious, it said 233 sold, now it went down to 189 sold? What’s going on?

It only shows the count sold in the last hour — now that the sale is more than hour old, it won’t show the full count anymore. There are 300 bodies available for this sale, so you can use the percent sold and work backwards from there.

What do we think the chances are of anything sale like this any time soon? Or even an authorized seller selling again for 2999? I’m really bummed prices seem to have GONE UP on black friday for this camera.

Received mine today. Everything is working. However, it was delivered in a non-kit box w/o warranty card and w/o recipe. Not sure if it is an US model. But it is working and I took the risk. Had never an issue with the other two canon bodies. I think it was worth it.

Good to hear. Canon US will probably still service it under warranty.

just wondering, what do we need to receive warranty service since there is no card? is providing the serial number sufficient? thanks.

          December 5, 2013 at 4:13 pm EDT

Canon never asks for the warranty card. All they ask for is a dated receipt to prove that your purchase was within the last 12 months.

We did a survey on this in December 2012. You can see the results here: http://www.canonpricewatch.com/warranty-poll/
