Hot Deal: EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279 at BuyDig via eBay

Another hot deal: BuyDig via eBay has the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM for $279.00.

This is the absolute cheapest we’ve seen for this lens since we started tracking its price in 2007. With a fast-focusing USM motor this lens is a nice upgrade from the 50mm f/1.8. At this price it is tremendous value.

UPDATE: Amazon matched the $279 price.

Does this work on Canon 5D Mark II?

Yes. I have a Canon 5D Mark II. I use the 50mm f/1.4 all the time on it. It’s my go-to “light” setup.

I did the chart on Amazon and it said it would not work on the 5D Mark III…..why would it say NO, it won’t work????

That chart must be out of date — this lens is definitely compatible with the 5D Mark III.
