7D Mark II Pre-Order Deal with 24-70mm f/4L IS for Approx. $2139

Only two days after announcement, we’re pleased to have found a tempting 7D Mark II pre-order deal — with a catch.

Camera Canada, a reputable Canadian authorized Canon dealer, has the EOS 7D Mark II and EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for $2298 Canadian Dollars (approximately $2139.00 US dollars after shipping, given current exchange rates).

This is a fantastic deal because Canadian cameras have been historically supplied with a Canon USA & Canada warranty card that is valid for Canon USA warranty. As the 7D Mark II pre-orders for $1799 in the US, it is like getting the EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM for only $340. This is a lens that is regularly $999 (and that’s only after a recent $500 price drop). That is an incredible savings.

Our readers report paying no tax, duty, or other custom fees when purchasing from Camera Canada. Click here to check out the deal at Camera Canada. Since this is a pre-order, you won’t be charged until your order ships (if you use a credit card), just place an order to be on their list.

This is one of several official pre-order deals that Canon is running exclusively in Canada.

UPDATE: Some good questions about this since it’s a Canadian deal. The official price is $2298 Canadian dollars + shipping. We can’t predict where exchange rates will be in two months, as you aren’t billed until the item ships, but at today’s rates it is $2139 USD. Our readers report that Camera Canada has been open to billing in US dollars at the prevailing exchange rate, so you can ask them about this in November when it comes time to pay for the order.

UPDATE October 1st: The powers that be at Canon Canada have now required everyone who is taking part in this offer to fill out a paper form with a Canadian address. Canon only recently added this requirement, probably because of non-Canadians flocking to do the deal… Sorry about this. Please note, stores will ship the purchase to the (US) address of your choice. So all you need the Canadian address for is the form.

Canon is really trying to unload all the extra 24-70mm f/4L IS. The US has the $250 MIR when purchased with the 6D, I guess this is the Canadian equivalent.

The “$228” gift set (free jacket, etc) is only available in Canada, because that is effectively a mail-in offer.

The lens combo deal is not restricted to Canada as there is no mail-in rebate or requirement.

Yep I saw that too, but determined the same thing, plus to get that you have to do the normal cutting and sending in of the UPC. Not sure I’d do it even if I was able.

Forgot to add, they (cameracanada.com) also offers a free 32gb SDHC card in their deal. Shipping is also an additional $29 CAD.

I was thinking of purchasing a lens from Camera Canada and ship to USA. I am in New York Has anyone who has purchased cameras/lenses from Camera Canada where the value is $1000+ had to pay any taxes/duties as it entered USA?

Camera Canada ships by USPS and our readers have never reported paying tax or duty when the item enters the USA. You can also avoid foreign transaction fees, please contact us for details.

Camera Canada said this was not available for US Residents. I know the free jacket and SWAG promo was Canadian Residents only, but has anyone seen language prohibiting US Purchases of this deal???

I think there has been a bit of confusion on this one — please contact us and we can help clear it up.

To get this deal you have to use, or have a Canadian address or you will not get the lens at this price.

I have updated the post. Note you don’t need to receive the order at a Canadian address. You just need a Canadian address to fill out a paper form that gets sent to Canon.

UPDATE: Canon Canada has now required everyone who is taking part in this offer to fill out a paper form with a Canadian address. 🙁 Apparently they only recently added this requirement, probably because of non-Canadians flocking to do the deal…

Note, stores will ship the purchase to the address of your choice. So all you need is a Canadian address for the form, to submit to Canon.

Do we need to email the form to: ITCG_PreOrder@canada.canon.com

Do they need our order number or anything else?

Just send it to the store that you ordered it from. They’ll take care of submitting the forms.
