Finally, we’re seeing a rare discount on the recently announced 27″ iMac with 5K Retina display. (If you haven’t seen this in person yet, you must: it is incredible, a photographer’s dream.) The Apple 27″ iMac with Retina 5K Display is $2349.00, which is a $150 discount.

they have some messed up shipping prices for Puerto Rico. Some bigger items ship for $30 but the pixma printer is $250+ for shipping which is crazy… Must be a mistake on their end.

Well, that’s no good. I’m in PR as well and I was hoping to get in on this deal.

Are you looking at the “1 day shipping” option? The promo says free expedited shipping. They can’t possibly expect someone to pay 250 for shipping.

The ship weight of the printer is >50 lbs. Any type of expedited shipping or air shipping (e.g. to Puerto Rico) would definitely be expensive, and I don’t think we can expect it to be free.

CPW, are any of these calibration kits good for business purposes?

Depends on what business purpose you need them for. As in calibrating a large number of monitors?

I am heavily considering jumping at the Pixma Pro-1 at $399. Anyone use this printer? Have read great things and bad things on it, but I hear quality is great and the price post for a higher end printer isn’t bad.

Also, with the sale on printers, have I missed something with them announcing new pro model printers?

Ian Mccue only 8gb of ram

    1. November 2, 2014 at 2:29 am EDT

Luckily, RAM is one of the things user upgrade-able in the iMac. You don’t want to pay Apple for their over-priced RAM.

    2. November 2, 2014 at 2:58 am EDT

Ive been using apple for 7 years now and it’s time to upgrade, but at 2400 plus more ram I could get a pc for over a 1000 less. Would much rather use apple but that price is killing me

I’m actually considering buying one of these, after trying one of these out in-store. Photo editing is a dream with the 5K Retina display. What I think you’re paying for really is the screen and not really the computer, but I do realize it is a bleeding edge price for the 5K display technology.

I decided to pull the trigger on the Pixma Pro-1. $399 AR was just too good to pass up on such a quality printer. Thanks for the heads up CPW, I wouldn’t have been casually browsing BH this weekend if I hadn’t seen this post.
