New and Increased Canon Mail-in Rebates Tomorrow! $800 off 1DX

Canon will start a new mail-in rebate tomorrow, October 26th.

This looks to be a really exciting rebate. We see a rebate on the EOS-1D X for the first time; all bodies and lenses currently on rebate had their rebates extended; 10 lenses were added (including the new EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM), and 11 lenses saw their rebate values increased. This is the rebate we’ve all been waiting for!

Our street prices are from authorized Canon dealers, and are fully eligible for the mail-in rebate.

This rebate is valid for purchases at authorized Canon USA dealers. This rebate runs until November 22nd. (Thanks to Alan for the info!)

UPDATE: Here is the rebate form.

The timing of these rebates is interesting, as it seems to end right before Thanksgiving hits. Any thoughts as to whether rebate amounts might get even lower in December?

Canon is on a 4-week rebate cycle, like clockwork, and has been since April. I don’t think this was deliberately timed to end one week before Thanksgiving, but is just where the pattern ended up.

I can’t accurately predict what they will do next (it depends on how lenses are selling), but my guess is these rebate amounts are pretty close to bottom on lenses. For example, last year there was a $300 rebate on the 70-200 II. This year, between the $200 price drop and $150 rebate, it is a $350 discount.

With a selling price of 6799.00 before rebate, where does the 5299.00 come in?

Our “street price” authorized Canon dealers are selling this for $6099 before the $800 rebate, so $5299 is your final price.

You need a receipt dated between October 26th and November 22nd to be eligible for the mail-in rebate.

I wondered if it had anything to do with a potential release of new bodies soon?

Awesome! Thanks for the update CPW!

BH price street prices listed here. For example, 24-70 II is still 1949 after rebate…still $200 more than the street price from CPW. Does CPW expect further discounts in the near future or was the CPW estimate wrong?

Hi Brett, please read our FAQ on street prices for more explanation.

      http://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/faq-street-prices/

In summary, street prices are special deals available at Canon authorized dealers that are “too low to show” on their website. These prices are often several hundred dollars lower than the advertised price for the exact same item at other authorized dealers. You can contact us for assistance in obtaining the street price.

Thank you! I didn’t realize they’d done away with the add to cart price and we now have this street price process. Should have read the FAQ’s first – sorry!
