eBay Daily Deal: EOS 6D for $1349 (Import) GetItDigital

Today’s eBay Daily deal is from Get It Digital via eBay, they have the Canon EOS 6D for $1349.99. This ties for the lowest price ever seen. This is an import model, but it is physically identical and has WiFi and GPS.

Get It Digital via eBay is a reputable unauthorized dealer, they have 99.3% feedback on high-value Canon items including a good track record on the EOS 6D. One small warning though, they are adamant about charging a 5% restock fee on returns (unless defective), so please be sure before purchasing.

If you would prefer an authorized dealer with a great 30-day return policy and a full 1-year Canon USA Warranty, we have a street price of $1439 after the $200 Canon mail-in rebate.

That would have been a good price yesterday with the eBay 10% eBay bucks promo.

do i pull the trigger or do i pull the trigger?
part of me is waiting for an updated FF camera (mirror-less or not) from canon but i could be waiting for the better part of a decade of anything. its not like the 6d is due for an upgrade based off canon’s standards.

out of curiosity, when is the next big photo-event? February?

I love my 6D. Got it from Amazon back in January, when they had it on special.

If you purchase an import model, can you still do firmware updates and so forth on the camera?

Yes, it’s the same camera — just the warranty is different, as well as the language selection choices in-camera (although English is always available).

Waiting for a better deal for BF. I dont really know how good can it be. Maybe $1300 for US model or $1200 for import.

Do they have a warrantee? I don’t see it posted. also do they have a deal with the kit lens? I am wondering if it is worth waiting for thanksgiving sale maybe I could get the same item for the same price from an authorized dealer. in the mean time, I am still not 100% decided between the 6D and 5DM III. I am upgrading from a T1i but I don’t want to be limited by hardware and need a camera that I could use for a long time. Any advice is welcome.

It really depends a lot on what kind of things you shoot. While neither the 6D or the 5DIII will be the best camera for fast action, wildlife, and sports, the 5DIII will be the superior option of the 2 if that’s what you’re shooting. If you’re mostly a portrait, landscape, and natural low light shooter, the 6D will probably be the better camera for you. The differences in low light performance probably aren’t noticeable to most people with the naked eye, but tests confirm that the 6D is slightly superior when it comes to low light shooting.

Basically, you have to know what kind of things you’re shooting and how important those things are to you before making the selection. If money is no object, I’d go with the 5DIII, but if you’re on a budget (as all of us are) and you aren’t in need of any of the 5DIII’s specs, the 6D is an amazing camera. Tell us a little more about what you’re planning on shooting and we can likely tell you more about what your best option is.

Thank you for your reply. I have been learning photography for quite sometime and need to jump into the FF. I love portraits and landscape photography, but I also like to shoot my kids sports activities during their practice…etc.. currently my T1i is horrible on both the low light and the AF system.
I would love to go for the 6D because I am on a budget, but if the focusing system is not so good for sports, I may have invest in a 5D. I don’t want to end up upgrading my camera in a couple of years. So I am torn between the two option and can not make a decision :-).

That might sound a bit crazy, but for the price of 5d you can almost get 6d+7d2. The best value would be if you pre-ordered 7d2+24-70/4, and then got a 6d.

I had a t1i. even a 5DII is a great step up for you. I love mine. and….the prices are good for them and you can get all the extras.

The focusing system of the 6D isn’t as bad as some make it out to be, not in my opinion anyway. It’s better than the 5DII, which really isn’t saying a lot though. If your primary uses are portraits and landscape with a little bit of kid’s sports on the side, I think the 6D is the better camera for you and definitely for your budget. I shot amateur sports (charity softball tournaments, rec basketball leagues, and the like) for years with a 60D with very little trouble. Sure, I’d miss some shots every once in a while, but I believe I became a better photographer because I had to anticipate my shots more than I would have if I had a more complex focusing system.

That said, I don’t make my living off of shooting sports, but neither do you. If you’re that concerned, rent a 6D and see if it fits your needs for sports shooting, I’m sure that you’ll find that it will. G-D in his or her comment makes a really excellent point, you can get a 7DII or even a refurb 7D right now for really cheap. Use that for when you need a sports shooter with a better focusing system and use the 6D for everything else.

CPW , thank you. Its actually $1319. not 1349. couldn’t pass this up. that’s the lowest ive seen. so yes it might go lower but in 3 years it will be really low 🙂 at some point you have to buy or wait. I figure if some super duper canon full frame comes out next year like the 6DII or 5DIV then I can still sell this and use it towards the new one. replacing the 5DII with this. I hope its better weather sealed for outdoors than mine. thanks for your help.

Thanks! Shows 1349, but minus 27 ebay bucks.

Anyway, doesn’t matter to me anymore. Last Sunday night I pulled the trigger on 6d 24-70/4 L kit shipped from Canada for $1926 from Henry’s. The deal was gone Monday morning, and I didn’t have much chance to inform the community. Received yesterday, brand new, us/canada warranty, no tax or duty.

So basically it was just FYI that you might expect 24-70 deals in future. I haven’t seen these kits in the USA yet, but there is no reason for them not to arrive eventually.

What is the difference from the import model and the USA model?

    1. November 8, 2014 at 1:55 am EDT

They are the same physical camera, made in the same factories. The USA model was intended for sale in the USA. The import model was intended for sale in another region. The retailer has bought the cameras in a different region and imported them to the USA for resale. The primary difference is the warranty, where as the USA model has a Canon USA warranty, for the import camera a warranty is not guaranteed (although Canon seems to honor it anyway).

Hi CPW, I just received the 6D from GetitDigital on this deal.. So I was going through all the menus and setups and I noticed something.i went to batter info and it says it already has 116 shutter count. Did I get a used camera from them or a floor model or something? it came in the 24-105 kit lens box opened. have you heard of this before? maybe I should return it.

nevermind. I used an old battery from my 5DII that had been used before, forgot that info comes from the battery itself. so I feel stupid now lol. I couldn’t get Eosinfo.exe to pullup any info via usb though. ill have to search for another program. btw.. thank you for your help and this site.
