so i bought the 135 towards the end of nov at a price of 839.xx when the 50 off 500 was active. called in and they were able to adjust it down to 739 and then 713 (i was confused too) AND then the extra $100 off 500 or more.

Rep said he submitted it for approval and at a minimum i think I am getting 130 back but should really be getting something like 180 back. happy either way.

If you purchased an item within the last 14 days, and you notice it’s on sale for less than when you bought it, you can call the Canon Direct store and ask for a price adjustment to the current sale price. You must call them during the sale (the item doesn’t have to be in-stock.)

I think it just needs to be in the return window, which is extended for the holiday. I had one of my lenses adjusted yesterday that I bought back in Thanksgiving.

I just tried that with my 50mm f1.4 that I ordered on 12/17 to get the extra $40 off. The service rep said the price cannot be adjusted because the item was bought on Wednsday and not Thursday or Friday.

I called again to see if another rep would do it but she also said that tier promotion cannot be price adjusted. 🙁

Thanks Ted. I wish they had more 135mm in stock so more people would have been happy.

Ah, it just flashed in stock again, and it stayed in stock…until I clicked the “Place Order” button lol. It’s a great price.

I was lucky to order one too. But they have not shipped it yet… I really hope they won’t cancel the order. Was your lens shipped?

Dangit always late to the party on the 135L.

    1. December 19, 2014 at 2:51 pm EDT

That’s a crazy price for the 135L, it always sells out in seconds after being restocked!

Just curious: Were you able to get the additional $ off on the price adjustment? I just called Canon and they would not give me the price adjustment for the additional $100 off a $500 order. Any suggestions?

You have to return the order and re-order to get the $100 off. If you order is still in stock you can take the trouble otherwise just keep the current deal.

        December 19, 2014 at 1:30 pm EDT

Okay, so it looks like they’ll only do a price adjustment if the *item price* decreased, that means, if you bought it less than 15% off, or if you bought the 70-200 II or 24-70 II before the $80 refurb price drop (due to the new price drop) last week.

They won’t match any “global promotions” like the current $100 off $500 sale.

We’re looking into it, and trying to find a manageable solution. If everyone who’s signed up for e-mail notifs signed up for a SMS notif, we’d be spending $200/day in SMS fees. 🙁

But think of all the mayhem you could be causing when there is a sale!!! Hey – we all appreciate everything you are doing and saving us lots of green!

send the cpw to a gmail account (or other email service with forwarding options) and then set a filter on your email service to forward the email to your cell phone via sms message. I have att and use @txt.att.net and i get things as sms.

Anyone used two different canon 30 cash codes on two orders under same account?
How is 10-18 lens compared to rokinon 8mm in general. I know they are not same, but just hard to decide which one to keep. Sharpness or ease of use or other factors could help me decide.

CPW, How do we get the $30 ecash from Canon? Last week i ordered the 70-200 f2.8 II lens. This morning i ordered one more lens, I could have used the $30 cash to make it even sweeter deal. But i missed it. CAn you explain me how to get the $30 cash ? thanks in advance,
