Still Live: 5D Mark III + 24-105L Import for $2599 BigValueInc eBay

This hot deal is still live: BigValueInc via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III with EF 24-105L IS Kit for $2599.99. This is $100 lower (and a new low) compared to the Cyber Monday special price of $2699.

This is likely an import, as BigValueInc via eBay is not an authorized dealer. As a result, a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed (the store provides a warranty instead). Historically Canon USA has provided warranty service anyway — but this is at the discretion of Canon USA.

UPDATE: A few readers have reported receiving matching Canon USA Warranty cards with this purchase.

This retailer has been a reliable eBay seller based on eBay feedback and reader feedback. We will caution that their return policy (for elective returns rather than defective returns) is strict, so make sure you want this before buying. We will also caution that other eBay dealers have recently attempted up-sell calls, but as long as you’re firm, our readers report no problems receiving a brand new camera plus lens, and this is a fantastic price.

Does this qualify for the current 300 rebate?

No, this is from an unauthorized dealer.

Are there any issues to be aware of with an import version camera like Pal/NTSC that might be incompatible in the US?

Both US models and international/grey market models support both PAL and NTSC, you just need to switch between the two.

I brought one two day ago a 5D Mark III with 24-104 Lens. U.S. Warranty Card included, serial numbers match. BigValueInc will give you a one year warranty. FYI: The Warranty card is useless without a receipt. Shipped fast (one day) no problems so far, will use them again.

I just received my 5D Mark III w/ 24-105 today. Also had “USA & Canada only” warranty cards. Registered just fine on the Canon website. I have a Paypal receipt, but don’t see why a receipt is needed. A credit card or bank statement will show proof of purchase date too. Boxed was the entire contents as provided by Canon. All cables, strap, books (English and French), etc. This is a great deal and my experience has been positive.

BTW, I did get a call from the vendor the morning after the order. It went to voice mail, which contains my name, and they never called back or left a message.
