Street Price Ordering Cutoff for Mail-in and Instant Rebates is Friday

We have received many questions from readers, “how late can I place a street price order and take advantage of the mail-in or instant rebates?”

There are currently two Canon rebate programs running, one is a Canon mail-in rebate on brand new lenses, and the other is an instant rebate on bodies (5D Mark III, 7D Mark II, 6D). They are both scheduled to expire on March 28th (unless they’re renewed or extended by Canon.)

We recommend that the street price order be confirmed (e.g. replying to our response and confirming that you’d like to order) no later than Friday at Noon ET to ensure you can order during the rebate period. This is because the rebate rules require you to make your purchase on or before Saturday, March 28th. However, many camera stores do close on Saturdays and close early on Fridays. Also, during working hours, it can take an hour or two to get you through the street price process.

The lens mail-in rebate does not need to be mailed to Canon until April 28th, so you can receive your package next week and still participate in the rebate.

Street prices are brand new from Canon authorized dealers with 1-year Canon USA warranties and free shipping. Please read our FAQ for more details, or read reviews from our happy readers.

Any idea if they will continue current rebates?

We don’t know. Probably a good chance, but won’t know for sure until Friday or Saturday.

Any news/predictions on extending or renewing the Rebates? What has been the historic practice of Canon for 2nd quarter Rebates? Thanks for any info!

Not really a point in looking at history this year, with the currency fluctuations, everything is different. I’d say there’s a chance the rebates will be renewed, but I won’t be certain until they actually are.

Is the list street price final or just approximate? I’m asking because the item page always states “We estimate a street price …” Thanks.

Final. Although, there may be several different offers from different stores, if you fill out the form we’ll let you know.

They have had these rebates for a few months now right? Any reason to think they won’t continue them?

They have been changing values, and changing which lenses are on rebate. With the Yen vs. USD where it is, we’ll probably see rebates still (but the exact details we won’t know until closer to Saturday.)

Looks like all lens mail-in rebates have expired and were NOT renewed.
