Today’s B&H Photo Video DealZone (one-day deal) is the Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter for $69.95, after a manufacturer (Tiffen) $30 mail-in rebate.
We’re normally not a fan of Tiffen filters or variable density ND (we prefer reliable quality of the Lee Big Stopper) — but the reviews for this variable density ND filter read quite well (4.5 star on B&H). There are some caveats if you use the higher densities at wider angles, but overall it seems good value for money, if you don’t want to spend $350-400 on a Lee Stopper system.
Prepare to wait up to 6 months to get your $30 back.
I haven’t done a Tiffen rebate before, but their form says 8 weeks.
“Approximately 8 weeks” really means up to 6 months, which is what it took for me to get a measly $15 rebate check a few years ago from Tiffen Group.
Just an FYI.
This is useful info, thanks.
Is this worth it? I film on my canon 5d mark 3 24-105 lens
