Hot: Buy PIXMA-PRO 100 Ink Set, Get 680 Sheets 13×19″ Free

This ridiculously hot deal is back from the Canon Direct Store. When you buy the 8 CLI-42 (for PIXMA PRO-100) ink tanks individually, you get 20 “free gifts” of photo paper, totalling 680 sheets of 13×19″ (in semi-gloss, pro-lustre, and glossy plus II), and 20 sheets each of Photo Paper Pro Semi-gloss, Photo Paper Pro Platinum, and Photo Paper Pro Premium Matte, in 8.5×11″.

The individual ink tanks cost $16.99 each for a total of $135.92, not much more expensive than buying the combo kit for $124.99. The (inflated) retail value of all the free paper is $1427.80, which makes your sales receipt look downright silly.

This is the same deal as the previous free 13×19″ paper deal which sold out very quickly. Coupon code “SLEIGHRIDE” gets you flat-rate $10 expedited shipping to arrive before Christmas.

They also have a similar deal on PIXMA PRO-10 ink.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

Too bad 13×19 are such an odd size, I would need to also by a paper cutter to cut normal sizes just as I would with the letter size as well..

    1. December 18, 2016 at 2:39 pm EDT

If your prints are going into frames, the edges need not be perfect. Just use scissors. 😉

    2. December 18, 2016 at 2:41 pm EDT

True but I won’t give clients prints with crappy edges. Still is worth it to get these and a nice cutter though.

    3. December 18, 2016 at 5:50 pm EDT

That’s not that weird of a size, and if you own a PRO-1, 10 or 100 you probably should have a paper cutter because you can cut 11×14’s, 12×18’s, (2) 8×12’s, or 8×16’s out of one 13×19, but they also make 13×19″ opening mat kits and 18×24 frames so you can print full sized with no borders.

    4. December 18, 2016 at 6:56 pm EDT

It’s not a strange size at all. It’s actually a standard size, when you consider the extra room for bleeds, crop marks, registration marks, and all the other things print shops use in the margins. 1 inch margins is the usual, so a 13×19 is sized just right for 12×18 prints.

If you have clients, invest in a paper trimmer for Pete’s sake. Lol

How are you calculating 680 sheets? I think I’ve only counted 260 in my shopping cart.

I just checked mine. 680 is correct if you have eight cartridges. They can be any eight, too. You don’t have to get eight different colors if you don’t need them.

The offer scales down as well. If you buy four cartridges you get 340 sheets of 13×19 paper.

There is absolutely a similar deal with the Pro-10 and Pro-1 inks. But the Pro-10 inks are the better value for the money, however. There are 2 ways to get these deal for the Pro-10 inks. First, if you add all 10 INDIVIDUAL ink cartridges into cart, you get the following:
    (5) Pro Paper Sampler Pack
    (5) Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss 13×19 50 Sheets (250 sheets total)
    (10) Photo Paper Pro Luster 13×19 50 Sheets (500 sheets total)
    (5) Photo Paper Plus Glossy II 13×19 20 Sheets (100 sheets total)
All this adds up to $1,934.65, minus a rebate of $1,784.75, for a final pre-tax grand total of $149.90. You should have 35 items in cart.

The second way is if you add the 6 colored inks individually, then add the 4-cartridge black combo pack that includes the chroma optimizer (Photo Black, Matte Black, Gray, Chroma Optimizer, SKU 6402B008), you get the following:
    (1) Pro Plus Semi-Gloss 5×7 20 Sheets (20 Sheets total)
    (1) Photo Paper Plus Glossy II 13×19 20 Sheets (20 Sheets total)
    (4) Pro Paper Sampler Pack
    (5) Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss 13×19 50 Sheets (250 sheets total)
    (8) Photo Paper Pro Luster 13×19 50 Sheets (400 sheets total)
    (3) Photo Paper Plus Glossy II 13×19 20 Sheets (60 sheets total) (<–yeah, same description as the Glossy II 13×19 above, but they have different SKU numbers).
All this adds up to a total of $1,683.71, minus a rebate of $1,537.78, for a final pre-tax total of $145.93. You should have 29 items in cart. This second way gives you a little more variety on paper sizes.

Standard shipping is free for both choices.

    David, hmmmmmm.

  14. December 18, 2016 at 11:55 pm EDT

I’d rather like to see an offer to buy a few packs of paper and get the set of inks free. Now that would be a special.

FYI, I got the free shipping option for 6 orders and they will arrive tomorrow. That’s 2 day shipping for free.

  18. December 21, 2016 at 4:11 pm EDT

I ordered a full set of PRO 100 inks… just had 2 boxes totaling 84 lbs delivered begrudgingly by our shipping/receiving dude to my cubicle… Upon further reflection, I should have had him take it straight to my car.

I ordered 6 orders and the delivery guy was struggling. I then had to bring everything up two flights of stairs to my apartment.

Just received my order from the 18th. Unfortunately, the packaging was terrible – lots of bent corners and crushed boxes. A middle school’er could have figured out that the weight / packaging was not correct. I’m not sure what they were thinking filling a box half full and assuming the contents wouldn’t shift in transit.

Now I need to call Canon in the morning to address the wasted paper that i can’t use due to bent corners.
