We’ll see whether it’s a wave or a ripple Rob, Canon’s 5DIV has been the hottest selling FF since it was released in 09/16.

You’re are reading too much into to it. Canon always run deals on their products. Rob sees what he wants to see.

“Canon always run deals on their product” not true. I’ve been monitoring the Canon prices for over a year now. You only get deals like that mostly from November – end of December. I shoot both Canon and Nikon. So, what do I want to see?

On bodies, price drops or instant rebates are natural and can come at any time of the year. Unlike lenses (which typically get most heavily discounted at the holiday season) the bodies slowly decrease in price after launch. The timing of it may depends on other items in their roadmap, foreign exchange and other factors, and possibly competitive pressure.

(P.S. We’ve been watching Canon and Nikon prices for 7 years now.)

“possibly competitive pressure…” I like that! Also, thank you for watching Canon/Nikon prices for 7 years! I’m new to Canon, but been watching Nikon forever….
