Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD + Bonuses for $499 at B&H

B&H Photo Video has an additional $100 instant savings on the Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD for Canon EF. It’s now only $499.00. To sweeten the deal, you also get a free Hoya 67mm UV filter, and 4% rewards (approximately $20).

This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this lens. It is a very fast, f/1.8, image-stabilized lens designed for full-frame bodies, but it will also work on crop-sensor bodies with an effective focal length of 72mm.

Every time I see this lens I wish it was a 55mm. To close to my 35f2IS and it’d pair with my Tam 85vc perfectly.

I rented the Tamron 35mm 1.8 once (very similar to this lens) and loved it, but it could not focus using anything other than the center focus point on my 7D2 so I got the 35 2 IS instead. Too bad too because I think it was sharper than the Canon and I liked the look of the photos from it.

I did not want to buy at least one problem and an unknown number of unknown problems. It seemed to work fine on my 5D3 though.
