FAQ: How To Get Notified of Hot Canon Deals

We hope to answer many of the frequently asked questions about our e-mail notification feature!

How do I get notified about the best Canon Deals?

Our site has a feature to make it easy to get alerts of deals on Canon gear and other popular photography equipment. From our notification management page, you can:

  • Choose to receive alerts by email, or
  • Choose to receive alerts by push notification (Windows, MacOS, and Android only, at this time)

You can control what notifications you receive. There are three types of notifications:

  • You can subscribe to front-page deals to receive notifications on all of the great deals that we post. On average, we post between one and two hand-curated deals per day.
  • Alternatively, you can add items to your watchlist. You will get notified whenever we post a deal about an item on your watchlist.
  • Finally, there are advanced price target notifications — get notified whenever a particular item goes in-stock below your target price (either new, used, or refurbished).

We recommend subscribing to receive alerts on all deals that we post, so you don’t miss the next big unexpected deal or sale. Alternatively, if you are only looking for a small number specific items, setting up a watchlist is the way to go. Finally, advanced price target notifications are for experts who want a refined alert when a particular item goes in-stock refurbished or at a certain price point.

Which platforms support push notifications?

We’re currently supporting push notifications for most devices.

On Windows, MacOS, iPand Android devices: use Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari browsers, and click to enable push notifications from the subscribe box (on the main page) or in the notifications management page.

On iOS or iPadOS (iPhone or iPad) running 16.4 or later: please follow our step-by-step guide to enable notifications. iOS and iPadOS versions prior to 16.4 are not supported.

How do I subscribe to your front-page deals?

Click the “bell icon” on the main page, right below the first deal. If this is your first time, you’ll be directed to a page to create an account (with your email address). You can choose later to get notified by email or by push notification.

You can also manage your notifications via our notification management page.

You can also subscribe to our RSS feed, follow on Twitter, or follow our page on Facebook as well — the same deals will get posted across social media.

If you have any problems, or aren’t receiving the emails or pushes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How do I create a watchlist?

Click the “bell icon” on any product’s page (e.g. the EOS R) to add that item to your watchlist. If this is your first time, you’ll be directed to a page to create an account (with your email address). You can choose later to get notified by email or by push notification.

You can also manage your notifications via our notification management page.

If you have any problems, or aren’t receiving the emails or pushes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How do I sign up for price target notifications?

After you’ve created an account, on any product’s page (e.g. the EOS R), you can click the link “advanced price targets alerts” to open a dialog box.

The dialog box will allow you to sign-up for 3 types of notifications:

  • A notification when the item is in-stock at an authorized dealer below your target price.
  • A notification when the item is in-stock at any dealer (unauthorized or grey) below your target price.
  • A notification when the item is available used or refurbished below your target price.

For each notification type you can set the desired target price, or disable this notification completely. If this is your first notification, you’ll be asked to confirm.

To find a product’s page, you can either find it via the search box in the upper right, or the Canon Price List.

If you have any problems, or aren’t receiving the emails or pushes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How does it work, and how fast are the notifications sent?

Blog post notifications are sent immediately after we publish a blog post.

Price target alerts are automatically sent seconds after we detect the lower price or availability in used/refurbished. For brand new Canon items, we’ll usually detect price changes within minutes. For refurbished items at the Canon Direct Store, we usually detect restocking within 15-30 seconds.

How many notifications will I receive?

On average, we post between one and two hand-curated deals per day. How many notifications you receive will depend on if you are fully subscribed, or how many items are on your watchlist.

For price target alerts, you’ll receive an e-mail only if the price drops below what you were previously notified at; after which you won’t be re-notified for fifteen days. Price target alerts expire after 180 days, this is to ensure the alert still remains relevant to you.

How do I unsubscribe?

On the notification management page, you can disable your email or push notifications. For your convenience, this page is linked at the bottom of all notification emails.
