5D Mark III Body for $2549 at BigValueInc via eBay

BigValueInc via eBay has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2549.99. This is a return of the deal they had two weeks ago where they sold 500 bodies at this price.

BigValueInc are not authorized dealers. However, in the last sale, we heard from seven readers who purchased this: six reported getting a US model with US warranty card. One reported getting a Japanese warranty card. No other complaints were heard — $2549 is a great price, compare with $3349 at Amazon which is current lowest authorized dealer price. If you were one of the 500 who bought in the last sale, please leave a comment about your experiences and help your fellow readers out!

[UPDATE: 101 sold in 13 hours. Sold out.]

I bought it during the last sale for $2,549. It was from a broken up 24-105 kit. The body was brand new with USA warranty. Registered with canon cps no problem.

If you receive this Canon body with a US Warranty card, will you still be able to claim warranty services in Canada?

Yes. Canada and the US are considered one region by Canon. The warranty card is actually a “US and Canada” warranty card.

I bought it during your last posted sale and got a USA model. The only weird thing was the viewfinder eyepiece was taken apart. I found it in the box and slid it back in. When I purchased a new kit 5D kit from B&H in March (& sold later, but then I missed it) the viewfinder eyepiece was already on the body. Not a big deal though. Great camera so far.

Don’t you need an invoice from the authorized re-seller when claim warranty?

No, that’s a common myth — we did a survey and on 27 different instances Canon accepted a non-authorized dealer receipt for warranty repair. They only look at the date on the receipt to ensure you’re within your 1 year warranty period. http://www.canonpricewatch.com/warranty-poll/
