EOS 6D + 24-105 “Refurbished” for $1899 at BuyDig eBay, Free LR5

Authorized Canon dealer BuyDig via eBay has the “refurbished” Canon EOS 6D + 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Kit for $1899.99. You also get a free copy of Lightroom 5!

We say “refurbished” because: they ran a similar sale last week via their other storefront Beach Camera via eBay, and several of our readers reported they received a new item!

They got a color box, with none of the usual signs of a refurbished body and lens (pinprick through the serial number, red dot on the lens mount). Now, who knows if the store will be doing the same in this sale. Expect refurbished (for which this price is already a great deal), but I wouldn’t be surprised if for some buyers it comes out a bit better than that!

Refurbished items come with a full 1-year Canon USA warranty. BuyDig only charges tax to NJ.

Update: Savvy reader Todd notices that the listing mentions the BuyDig # as CNEOS6DKT and the Canon part number as 8035B009, which correspond to the brand new kit in both cases! Canon manufacturer refurbished bodies are normally sold under a different BuyDig # and Canon part number.

(If you bought in the last sale, please comment with your experience and help other readers out!)

I’m one of those that got a new one. Jump on this if you’ve been holding out for a 6D. I’m glad I did!

I think they just label it refurb so they can sell it at this price. So they dont have to break the MAP. Sellers always find a way.

I too was one who ordered a refurbished camera and received a brand new camera. I checked the shutter count right out of the box and it was zero. It would have been a good deal, but it turned out to be a great deal. Thanks CPW for the change to get this deal.

Fantastic! I’m thinking they were all new in the previous sale.

These are no doubt new units. Go over to their native websites and look at the sku numbers, or catalog#. Their skating around the MAP with refurb listings. And I just picked up the body refurb from Canon. Now I debate and cancel the Canon store one…..ugh.

Thanks for posting this! I decided the Canon store wasn’t for me the other day with taxes $100+. New or refurbed, I’ll still be happy! Looking forward to the upgrade from my T5i.

I had mentioned earlier it’s not working, but finally got a friend in the US to make it work. The order went thru, so will wait to see what comes in the box.

    1. May 4, 2014 at 11:38 pm EDT

Cool. Just in time too. It sold out 5 minutes ago.

I also ordered that one from Beach Camera last week. I got a color box. And I paid $1.99 to check the shutter count on eoscount.com and got zero. I was thinkng I wasted that $1.99 to get a inaccurate number until I read this article. So happy to make that order and thank you CPW!

I purchased this last week during the Beach Camera deal. I have a colored box, no pin marks on serial number, no red dot on lens mount. My serial number is 8035B010(AA), a little different than the number above. Anyone know anything about this serial number?

      May 5, 2014 at 10:29 am EDT

Interesting — that’s a Canadian part number. It’s eligible for the same USA warranty and shouldn’t be any different.

But that does explain part of this mystery. 🙂

I Who would have thought! I couldn’t figure out why my serial number was different than all the websites I was viewing. I really do think it is new, although I haven’t run a shutter count on it yet.

    May 5, 2014 at 10:41 am EDT

I guess I should ask if you also think this serial number indicates it is new? Of course when I search this number I get new models on Canadian websites.

buydig.com – does not list Refurbished kits on their site, only refurbished bodies. *fingerscrossed*

    1. CanonPriceWatch
      May 5, 2014 at 10:42 pm EDT

I don’t think an official “refurbished 6D+24-105mm” kit exists. At least I’ve never seen the part number for it; even the Canon Direct Store doesn’t have them. Now, a retailer could “make” them out of refurb 6D + refurb or white box 24-105mm but it doesn’t seem likely.

      1. SlavaKM
        May 5, 2014 at 11:03 pm EDT

Yet they have a 5DIII kit (CNEOS5DM3KT1RB) listed on their site.
But do not have it listed on ebay. It would’ve been nice to match the #s there.
Of course it could all be just a copy/paste description with the only difference being “refurbished” in the condition field.

          May 5, 2014 at 11:10 pm EDT

If you check a few of their recent Nikon refurb deals, the BuyDig# on eBay matches the refurb listing on their site. The 6D is definitely different in that it doesn’t.

That being said, who knows what they will ship. I’m sure they’re getting a lot of attention over this now as Canon does read this site (Hi, Canon!).

Hopefully when they say back in stock in 3-5 days that means they’ll post another deal like this one. I missed out on this one as I couldn’t convince myself to sell my 60D fast enough.

I received mine too. Came in a new box. Did not mention “refurbished” anywhere. So I didnt take the pain to check the shutter count. Is this enough to decide that its a new one?

Congrats on all who followed our advice and got in on the deal.
