This lens was introduced in 2012 at a price of $1,499, and it’s incredible how fast the price has dropped.

    yeah, so incredible that I can’t get rid of the one I bought a a package without almost losing money…looks like I will be breaking even at best.

    Is there any real advantage to this over the 24-105?

    I think it’s asinine that Canon released the 24-70II at nearly double the price of the original and it didn’t even have IS. Then they realease this at F4 when they have the 24-105. What were they thinking with this???
