We now have a street price on the EOS 5Ds from a Canon USA authorized dealer, including a 1-year Canon USA warranty. If you are interested, please fill out the EOS 5Ds street price form for more details.
We don’t have a street price on the EOS 5Ds R at this time, as it is still out-of-stock at many retailers. It appears as though Canon has mispredicted the demand between these two cameras. While the EOS 5Ds R is out-of-stock, a nice supply of the less expensive EOS 5Ds is available, thus the street price.
Our street price also stacks with the double mail-in-rebate launch promotion for the new cameras.
Still holding out for the new improved 6D … if that’s a no show, I’ll be switching to the Nikon D750.
well shoot most recent “rumor” is that 6D won’t be much improved over what it is now, so may have to choose b/t 5dM IV or Nikon D750.
Why bother with the Nikon D750 lmao!!
What’s wrong with the d750?
Compared to the Canon 5dsr? They are in different leagues…
The 5dsr is a standard 5d with an insanely high resolution needed only for huge reproduction or cropping easy far in, instead of using proper optics. The d750 will beat the canon every day of the weak in in terms of image quality in just about every way possible outside of resolution. The Nikon also offers a tilting screen, and better focusing and a faster burst rate. So, they may not have resolution but they have more in just about every other key area.
I will take sharper images over everything else every single time.
All the other points are minor and are debatable. Better AF system? That is pretty close as Canon’s has greatly improved it with the new generation of cameras. Tilting screen? Really?
Canon has also closed the gap in dynamic range with the new Digic 6 sensor.
It comes down to resolution and image detail and sharpness. The Canon 5ds and 5dsr is better in that regard than any other DSLR out there.
6d’s will be shipping to the U.S. Within 30-60 days.
