EF 35mm f/1.4L II Now In-Stock, Special Launch Street Price Available

B&H Photo Video is now showing that the recently announced Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II is in-stock for $1799.00. Due to their store closing it will ship out on Thursday morning. We expect initial quantities are very limited.

We also have a street price available on this lens, which offers a small discount from a Canon USA authorized dealer and free shipping. Because it’s still very early, we can’t publish the price, but you can inquire for more details. The street price deal is also available to ship on Thursday, and there’s very limited quantity available.

This lens was recently announced and features a new “BR Optics” feature that reduces chromatic aberration and an incredible MTF chart vs the old version. This continues their impressive trend of world-class lens redesigns — although they seem to come with a rather large price tag. The old version can be had for $1329, and a very popular Sigma Art for $779.

Ive been hearing so much good things about the sigma art version. How well does it compare to Canon?

This lens will blow the sigma out of the water.

The Sigma blew everything out of the water… This new Canon is supposed to be even better… how much is anyone’s guess for now

I can’t imagine needing anything better than my sigma art. It is my favorite lens for sure!

And here’s a testing all the competitors on the same system: http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2015/09/35mm-f1-4-shootout-canon-35mm-f1-4l-ii-vs-sigma-35mm-art-vs-canon-35mm-f1-4l-i Basically the new canon is slightly better than the sigma

I have the Sigma Art and I honestly don’t see how this lens can be $900 better. Too many people get this notion in there head that “if it’s not L glass it sucks”

Sigma 35 mm ART for $950 rocks!

MTF charts look to surpass the Sigma easily.
