The Canon Direct Store is on sale: they’re offering 15%-off refurbished lenses. Use the coupon code “SPOOKYSAVINGS” to activate the deal.
We were expecting a deal on the EOS 5D Mark III, but didn’t see that yet. It appears that Canon has decided to defer that deal until a later date. Stay tuned, it’ll probably come within the next month!

Nothing on the 5D Mark III? 🙁
We were told the 5D Mark III would also be 15% off, but it doesn’t seem like it. We’re still looking to see if it’s a different coupon code. We’ll post an update when we find out more.
Thank you!
CanonPriceWatch.com Thank you!
I was attempting to get the 85mm 1.8 and two other lenses. The 15% discount worked on the other two but not on the 85. That lens already has an “Instant Savings” applied to it, so it may be that this coupon does not affect items that already have that. So the $299 price listed above is correct, but you could get that even without the coupon.
Yes, you are right David. I had the same experience. For some reason this coupon appears to work only on selective ones. The other have an instant savings that has always been the case and ofcourse less than 15%.
Found this in the terms and conditions for this sale : Offer also excludes the following camera bodies and kits:
EF50/1.4USM,
EF85/1.8USM,
EF17-40/4LU,
T6S 18-135 STM KIT+EF55-250IS STM,
T6I 18-55 STM KIT+EF55-250 IS STM
and the T6I 18-55 STM KIT+EF75-300 IIIU
Any word on that amazing 5D3 refurb deal you hinted at earlier today??
I am so mad at Canon over this. Having purchased from them, the last time a month ago, I think I should have gotten the code but I didn’t. By the time the generic one came out the lens I wanted was gone. Maybe its time to dump their stuff and go to Sony.
Hello Dave, sorry to hear you missed out. Have you signed up for this Canon Holiday Hush Newsletter?
https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/naughty-or-nice?cm_sp=CD-_-HP_Row6_LeftBlock-_-HolidayHushSignUp
One of the benefits is early access to holiday sales. I signed up earlier this year and Canon emailed me an early access code yesterday around noon EDT. Also, the current promotion runs through the weekend so hopefully you’ll get another shot at picking up the lens you want. Good luck.
Thanks. Honestly, I am really mad at Canon and may just switch systems. Been with Canon since the F1 but their customer service response to this has been horrible and I am at the point of making some purchases so maybe better to switch.
Thanks for the info on the Holiday newsletter. And, it seems that on the website, each item is now clearly marked whether there is an Instant Savings, or if it qualifies for the 15% discount. Now they just need to get some 6Ds back in stock and put those on sale 🙂
IIRC last year there was 15%,10% , and 5% discounts and a small window of time ( 1 day or 12 hours) where they were able to be combined,,,been waiting for that this year.
I doubt we’ll see that again this year. That was a price mistake, and I think they’ve learned their lesson.
Same here, neopavlik. I jumped on that stacked 15,10,5 % discount last year on the refurb site and bought a body and lenses. I’ve been waiting for a deal like that all year .. and waiting just for this timeframe (pre Halloween). I even took a screenshot of all those prices from last year because I almost couldn’t believe it .. I till don’t. Wish I would have bought more back then too now in retrospect. Oh well. Thank you Canonpricewatch for facilitating this site. It’s really great and you’re doing a great job.
Same here. I was waiting for this halloween all year to grab the similiar deal like last year where they allowed to stack coupons. I was very sweet deal. But this year canon disappointed us. 🙁
Any suggestions or feedback : Canon refurbished vs “used” Keh for 5D3 Body ? worth waiting for refurbished body ?
I’ve purchased two refurbished bodies from Canon, couldn’t tell the difference from new and they have a 1 year warranty.
In looking for a 70-200 2.8 isll. How much. And a 300or 400 2.8 lens for a cannon body.
Why don’t you click the link and check the site..
Wow – this morning Canon seems to have extended the 15% deal to certain cameras as well – not the 5D models though. I just picked up a 6D body and got the existing $80 Instant Savings but also spookysavings took another 15% off. I got the 6D for $1088 plus my local sales tax! This doesn’t appear to be a mistake, as not only does each camera that qualifies have a mention of the 15% savings, but it even now lists the cameras that are excluded as well as the lenses that are excluded in the fine print of the sales info.
Most lenses are not in stock
As always seems when they run a sale
They were in-stock. Most sold out in the first hour of the sale.
