Hot: Save 20% at Rakuten (Works on Canon from Authorized Dealers)

UPDATE: Even though the promotion was scheduled to last until September 19th, it looks like it was terminated early by Rakuten. Maybe the realized giving away $200 to everyone was a bad idea. 🙂

The Rakuten Marketplace has a great promotion: they have a sitewide 20%-off coupon that can be applied to any single order from any merchant in their marketplace. Their marketplace includes Canon Authorized Dealers such as BuyDig, Beach Camera, and Cameta Camera. They also give you 5% back in points towards a future purchase. You need to create or login to your Rakuten account, then apply coupon SAVE20 in-cart.

The maximum savings from the coupon is $200, so you maximize your savings on orders that are around $1000, and items with little or no street price discount (as you are purchasing at the full MAP price.) Here are some deals we think are really hot, but go find or make a deal for yourself!

Rakuten collects tax to California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Tennessee, New York, and Washington, in addition to any states the marketplace merchant collects tax to.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

Is everyone else getting this error as well? Coupon is one use per account, not sure if this is a global limit…

I created a brand new account, and used the coupon code. And the price on the right upper corner reflected the $200 discount.

Coupon usage exceeded message given during checkout. It would’ve been nice if they noted that on their main page. 🙁

I’m getting a message saying “you can’t access this server” when I click on the links above.

The coupon was live on 12am and, according to people on Slickdeals, stopped working already by 6am.

Most likely, they set the limit to 1000 customers or something and closed the shop.

The times you’re citing are PT. When we posted it seemed like it was still live.

What a mess. The coupon conditions said it would expire in 72 hours, not in 6… updating the post and cleaning up this mess.

Most likely they set a cap on the usage or restricted on some items. I received marketing email from them as late as 12:07pm eastern with the same code. My account is a few years old I had it from the buy.com days

Don’t seem to have 20% on the front page anymore. Was gonna get Sigma 14 1.8, wasted 30 mins instead. SAD!

I found a 24-105mm IS II for $200 cheaper than their discount price.

They really need to work on their shopping cart. I applied the code and the discount was reflected in the price. They didn’t put up the error message about the coupon usage being exceeded until after I entered all my address and card info. They should’ve said the code was no longer valid as soon as I entered it.
